Art of Particles

This brief required creating an immersive showcase of particle systems, blending playful experimentation with technical control to present effects as digital artworks. The goal was to explore variation through movement, scale, and behavior, demonstrating skills in simulation, visual design, and atmospheric storytelling.

I approached this project by treating each particle system as an experiment, exploring how variations in speed, scale, and behavior could create distinct outcomes. Rather than focusing on a single effect, I aimed to build a collection that highlighted diversity and creativity, showing the range of possibilities within Unreal Engine’s particle tools.

Through developing a range of particle systems, I discovered how small changes in logic and parameters could produce dramatically different results, from naturalistic effects like fountains and leaves to more abstract, chaotic simulations. This process showed that the value of the work lay not just in completing individual effects, but in building a collection that demonstrated variation, creativity, and control within Unreal Engine.
