Create a photorealistic and interactive representation of a chosen interior space. The design must have a defined purpose either real-world or fantastical and be justified through both theoretical and conceptual evidence, demonstrating its purpose, functionality, and future requirements.
NeonSpin transforms the laundromat experience by blending neon lighting and retro futuristic design with interactive 3D visualization. Through custom designed furniture, signage, and lighting, the space becomes immersive and visually captivating, turning a mundane chore into an engaging and atmospheric activity.
Laundromats are often treated as purely functional spaces, with little attention given to atmosphere, comfort, or visual appeal. After conducting primary user research through observations and interviews, I found out that traditional laundromats are often perceived as cold, monotonous, and purely utilitarian. Users described harsh lighting, repetitive layouts, and generic furniture that fail to inspire or foster social interaction. In a time when people are increasingly drawn to immersive, well designed environments, the traditional laundromat fails to meet modern expectations for spaces that combine practicality with atmosphere.
