This project helped me understand how storytelling and interaction can bring an environment to life. By recreating the Scare Floor, I explored how lighting, texture, and movement work together to create atmosphere and emotional depth, transforming a familiar animated scene into an immersive experience.
Create an interactive 3D cut scene inspired by the Monsters Inc. Scare Floor, reimagined as a functional and playful environment that blends realism with fantasy. The scene allows users to interact with key elements, such as activating the control panel to teleport through the door into Boo’s room.

When I entered university, my goal was to recreate one of the most memorable scenes from my childhood, the Scare Floor from Monsters Inc. My passion for animation and environment design drove me to bring this idea to life, focusing on realism, mood, and interaction. Every 3D asset in the scene was modelled, textured, and assembled by me, allowing me to fully explore the process of creating an immersive animated environment from the ground up.
