The name WOOFZY connects both to the product and its primary users “woof” representing the sound dogs make, and the “zy” suggesting how easy and quick the toys are to produce. In terms of visual style, research showed that dogs can perceive lighter hues such as pink, light blue, and light green, similar to the palette used in the Australian animated show Bluey. Overall, the brand emphasizes playfulness, capturing the energetic and fun nature of dogs while creating toys that are visually engaging for both pets and owners.
After deciding to take a playful direction, I focused on the dog toy market, which I felt had potential for creative exploration. Dog toys play an important role in a pet’s wellbeing chewing, tugging, and fetching can improve dental health and strengthen the bond between pets and their owners. I wanted to offer a variety of play options that keep dogs healthy while being eco conscious. Since most dog toys are made from rubber or plastic, I chose to use upcycled polar fleece to create sustainable, playful alternatives.
